2010 Aston Martin Rapide spotted almost uncovered

It’s not a big surprise spy photographers caught the Aston Martin Rapide out testing almost uncovered. Aston should be about ready to release the car on the world at the Geneva Motor Show in March, and then have it in consumer hands by the end of the year.

Just like the official renderings of the 2010 Rapide, this Aston looks like a DBS plus two doors. When we finally get our hands on this Porsche Panamera fighter, we expect a 6.0-liter V12 making 500 hp V12. This should be good for 0 to 60 mph times of under 5 seconds and a top speed above 180 mph.

Aston Martin is looking for a name for its future open-top DBS

Roadster and Volante - these are the usual names for the open-top models from Aston Martin. But the topless version of the DBS may not follow the same rule.

An Aston Martin spokesman said that the company is still looking for a name suitable for the sports-car and that it “is not sure this will be Roadster or Volante.” The company is currently using the Roadster name for convertibles with two-seats and Volante for a four-seats, but the DBS is something a little more special that may deserve it own name.

Aston Martin received 100 orders for the One-77

Aston Martin announced the extra-limited edition One-77. And even if its priced at $1.9 million the company already received 100 orders for the supercar. But the big dilemma is that the One-77 will be limited to only 77 units, so who will be the 23 ones that will not get their exclusive Aston Martin? (Anyone smell a Highlander-like showdown for the British supercar?)
