Nissan has taken the covers off of their latest factory tuned GT-R, the Spec V, and unfortunately this model has been uncovered to be the slowest of the R-35s. Despite this, Nissan is still developing the GT-R in order to release an upgraded version that they are calling the Series II. This vehicle will receive an upgraded suspension; a retuned transmission, stickier rubber and a 5 HP increase. Toshio Suzuki, Nissan’s head test driver, told GT-R blog that the modifications made to the Series II should allow the vehicle to navigate the 33 left turns and 40 right turns that make up the Nurburgring in about 5 seconds less than the current model. The Nurburgring’s Nordschleife circuit is a 12.9 mile loop in western Germany that has been used since 1927 to test man and machine. X-Bow crash at the Nurburgring
Once again we go back to the ’more money than brains (or possibly skills) file’ as the owner of a new lightweight KTM X-Bow runs out of track. It seems the driver took the car to the Nurburgring in Germany to possibly confirm the petite car’s 137 mph top speed. Instead he got a lesson in g-forces and gravity as the car used its 237 hp to send it over the track and on top of the guardrail.
Lotus Evora testing at Nurburgring
There are no secrets left about the Lotus Evora. We’ve already seen all the official photos from Lotus of this new mid-engined 2+2 coupe. This is just the first time we get to see it in its element down at Germany’s Nurburgring.

Powering Lotus’ new GT will be a Toyota 3.5-liter DOHC V6 making about 280 horsepower. While that usually isn’t a lot of power for a car that wants to hang with Aston Martins, its Lotus’ founder Colin Chapman’s motto that saves the car. He believed “to add speed, add lightness”, and the under 3000 lb weight of the Evora will insure a fast ride.
